Open Door Gallery + Coffee is planning its second annual theme show for the month of February: “Arts, Hearts, and Hammers” and is looking for artists to participate in the fundraiser for Hearts & Hammers.

The gallery welcomes artwork that relates in some way to tools, houses, construction and the ideas of heart, hearth and home. However, artwork that doesn’t relate to the theme is also welcome. Literal, philosophical, playful, spiritual, abstract — all mediums and interpretations are welcome.

Hearts & Hammers is a one-day blitz to repair and rehabilitate the homes of those physically or financially unable to do so.

The exhibition is from Feb. 5 through Feb. 9. Artists interested in participating should e-mail opendoorwhidbey@gmail.com by Jan. 5.
