Orchestra holds youth auditions

The Saratoga Chamber Orchestra will hold auditions later this month for its fourth annual Young Artist’s Solo Competition as part of Whidbey Island’s very own Saratoga Chamber Orchestra’s 2009-2010 season.

Auditions are open to all instrumentalists and vocalists, and will be held at Langley United Methodist Church on Jan. 23.

Winners will be invited to perform with the Saratoga Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, March 21 at South Whidbey High School.

To be eligible, students must reside in Island County, be younger than 19 years of age as of Jan. 1, 2010, choose repertoire suitable for chamber orchestra accompaniment and audition with piano accompaniment.

The entry fee is $20 and deadline is Saturday, Jan. 9.
