Youth in Arts comes to Langley May 4-6
April 30, 2010 · Updated 3:56 PM
Youth in Arts is a three-day celebration of the talented students of the South Whidbey School District who excel at music, theater and visual art.
Performances are all at Whidbey Island Center for Arts in Langley on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 4-6.
Each evening, a combination of students from the public schools’ music and theater classes and community arts organizations will present the fruits of their hard work and dedication to their art.
Artwork from local young fine artists will be shown in the WICA lobby during the celebration.
The Youth in Arts program would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of Youth in Arts organizers Jess Foley and Kat Fritz; committee members Patricia Friedman and Betsy Usher Gmerek; South Whidbey teachers Mary McLeod, Kimmer Morris, Ashley McConnaughey, Linda Good, Quinn Fitzpatrick, Kathy Fox, James Hinkley, David Licastro and Roxallanne Medley; Joe’s Island Music in Langley and the WICA board of directors and staff.
It is also important to champion the efforts of all the South Whidbey parents who devote their volunteer efforts, their money and their outstanding carpooling abilities to make sure their children have the wide spectrum of the arts in their lives.
