In response to Island County Commissioner Jill Johnson’s Feb. 18 viewpoint in The Record, I would like to make two points.

1) As has been stated numerous times by others, people who are protesting the noise are not anti-Navy, they are anti-noise. By this time, Commissioner Johnson should know the difference or else she is being willfully ignorant.

2) To equate jet noise to jobs and taxes is the same as equating coal, fracking and clear-cutting to jobs and taxes. It’s OK to ignore the environment as long as you’re making money.
