Coverage of shooting will lead to copycats

Editor,

Again we hear the broadcast media clamoring for a “motive.”

Most of us think that a primary motive for these losers is to become nationally famous.

How many years will it take for the media to realize that, in their eagerness to have the first “scoop” to broadcast the name of the shooter or bomber and to do a big story exploring everything they can about his life, that they are providing the incentive for all future copycats?
