Letter: Something must be done now about global warming

Editor,

Climate change is happening now.

The latest climate report from the United Nations says we have only 12 years to transform our economy to preserve the stable climate human civilization has depended on for millennia.

We need a massive mobilization of every sector of society on par with what science and justice demand.

A Green New Deal will be the beginning of keeping United States citizens, indeed the world, safe from climate change and will begin to create millions of green jobs.

Any presidential candidate who wants to be taken seriously on climate change and earn the support of millions and millions of now voting Millennials — a larger demographic even than the baby boomers—must support Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Markey’s Green New Deal resolution.

I encourage your readers to let their members of Congress know they support this resolution by going to https://www.sunrise movement.org/gnd and signing the Green New Deal petition.
