LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Lone Lake needs management

Editor, This lake is so poorly managed it is depressing. People come from places as far as Canada to fish this lake; every fly fishing store and club in the Puget Sound will have a report on this lake and yet it is managed by idiots. I have fished this lake with a fly since the late 80’s and have watched it deteriorate into a slimy, green and smelly mess.

This lake is so poorly managed it is depressing. People come from places as far as Canada to fish this lake; every fly fishing store and club in the Puget Sound will have a report on this lake and yet it is managed by idiots.

I have fished this lake with a fly since the late 80’s and have watched it deteriorate into a slimy, green and smelly mess. Now the lake has had a huge fish kill-off as there are dead rainbow trout everywhere. And officials don’t seem to care.

This lake could be one of the premier fly lakes in Washington, bringing lots of dollars to Whidbey, but it is very poorly managed and that sucks.
