Editor,

I am writing on behalf of Helen Price Johnson. I have known Helen since she served on the South Whidbey School District Board of Directors. In this capacity and her subsequent service on the Island County Board of Commissioners, she has always demonstrated her willingness to serve our communities.

I have worked with Helen during her years of service to the South Whidbey school board and have remained in contact with her during her service as an Island County commissioner. During this time Helen has “stood out” for her intelligence, caring attitude and ability to solve problems.

Helen has the ability, passion and leadership required to be an effective commissioner. During her service on the board she has consistently worked for solutions that are in the best interests of our county.

Helen Price-Johnson has demonstrated the ability to work under pressure. She has a strong sense of fairness and honesty and I found her to be a person of strong, ethical character. She does not compromise her values.

I urge voters to become well informed before they vote. Helen has several “position papers” that are posted on her website.

I can recommend Helen without reservation. I am confident that she will continue to be an effective commissioner, one that will work to create a safe and culturally responsive, respectful and caring Island County. I urge you to strongly consider her when you cast your vote.

Sincerely,

ROGER MYERS
