Many deserve thanks for the ‘brutalized’ fawn story

Thank you to the South Whidbey Record for reporting the very disturbing story of the man who killed a deer and brutalized its fawn. It’s good to know that such heartless acts are condemned by our authorities and that legal action can be taken to hold the people who commit them accountable.

Thanks also to the citizens of Whidbey who played a helpful role in this sad story: the alert neighbor, the judge who did the sentencing, the investigating officer from our state Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the veterinarian who put the suffering fawn down.
