What is happening to our island leadership? We have two elected officials trying to take away our First Amendment (freedom of speech). These two county officials said the people of Coupeville must stop expressing their opinions and concerns about the Navy jet noise or they will withhold funds. This is how they represent the people.

Then we had the mayor of Langley say if the city doesn’t vote the way he wants (on becoming a sanctuary city) that he will quit.

I hope the voters of Island County and of Langley have good memories next time they go to the polls. I know I will.
