I take exception to your claim that South Whidbey has no public pool.

The pool at Island Athletic Club is open to the public. Membership is not required: anyone can purchase a one-day — or weekly or monthly — pass at the club and use the pool and all the other facilities.

We have no publicly supported pool, but we have a public pool. Considering that the publicly supported pool in Oak Harbor has suspended almost all aquatic activities for lack of funding should make us all think very carefully about investing in a facility locally.
