The frat boys in Congress, the president won’t get my vote

Editor,

The GOP is at it again, taking the first steps in the House of the biggest poor-to-rich distribution of wealth ever seen. The new bill, “Trumpcare” (the American Health Care Act), could charge older people five times as much for health insurance, cut Medicaid by $800 billion, which affects the elderly and the disabled, and would get rid of Medicaid expansion by 2019. And the topper, it would give an almost $1 trillion tax cut to the 1 percent of those who make over $200,000 a year.

Some of the 217 supporting House members did not even read this atrocity before voting for it, and then getting on a bus to the White House to cheer for their deed like frat boys in the rose garden. The winners are the rich, and insurance and drug companies. The losers are the poor, the elderly and the sick.

We do not need these people playing politics with our lives and healthcare as they continue to rake in as much as possible for themselves. I hope people are watching and won’t be fooled by the lies of this rich “president” and Congress. Most importantly, don’t miss a chance to vote and remove them. We must use our most effective tool — the vote.

Sincerely,

NANCY MAY
