The time for action is short, the consequences grave

Editor,

President-elect Donald Trump has demonstrated time and again behavior that is irresponsible, eccentric, and abnormal. Many of his actions are simply unacceptable for an individual who, if he assumes the presidency, will be wielding enough power to destroy all of humanity. There is ample evidence that suggests something is inherently wrong with Donald Trump’s mental capacities and judgment, a fact that has been glaringly demonstrated during this presidential campaign. It is therefore reasonable to recommend that this individual be compelled to be given a psychiatric evaluation to determine if he is indeed unfit for the office of President of the United States. To not do so would be not only irresponsible but a threat to the welfare of the United States, if not the entire world.

If, as his behavior suggests, he is mentally unfit then action must be taken to prevent him from assuming office. This situation is unique for our society but the gravity could not be more profound. Unprecedented measures would be required to keep him from office. But it was a minority, by almost two million votes, that elected Trump due to the arcane electoral college scheme that this country still adheres to for God only knows what reason. In no way does he have a popular mandate to be president. This is not partisan political sniping. This is serious reflection of the facts of this election and needs serious consideration. The time for action is short and the consequences are grave and absolutely unparalleled.

If you agree that this is an accurate portrayal of this man and this dire situation, then write, tweet, post. Write to any and all responsible entities who can have an influence to deflect what could be the definitive epic disaster of modern times. If the intellectually stunted are allowed to determine the success of Donald Trump then we will all suffer the consequences. And this won’t be pleasant for anyone.

If only there had been such an effort to keep the megalomaniac Hitler from assuming power. Over 60 million lives could have been saved.
