We have our own problems to deal with

Editor,

This is in response to the issue of sanctuary cities, here or there.

Does anyone remember why the United States fought against “boat” people?

My other question is why has this been made into an issue of religion when it’s really about still more people who are unwanted by their own country?

We, the United States, have homeless people and camps from sea to shining sea. We are not shipping them to another country because there are no jobs or because they can’t work or won’t work.

Does anyone remember? Does anyone remember national ration stamps, including those for sugar, meat and fuel? We might be poor again.
