Armstrong Taekwondo finds success in Canada, take home 60 medals

Eighteen members of Armstrong’s Taekwondo traveled to Canada on Nov. 19 for the “Langley, B.C. Regional Taekwondo Tournament.”

They returned from beyond the United States’ borders with 60 medals, including first, second and third placings. It was the third tournament in the 2016-17 season and a “great victory for us as each tournament goes towards Washington State Championship” to be held in Oregon this year, said Robert Armstrong, owner of Armstrong Taekwondo in Clinton.

Competition categories included forms, weapons, sparring, combat sparring, extreme martial arts forms, extreme martial arts weapons, creative forms and creative weapons.

Members of the team that earned multiple medals included Mike Napoli, Jennifer Cisney, Julia Napoli, Amber Terrell, Dane Saxton, Stephine Chia, Cassie Terrell, Braxtyn Fleming, Christian Terrell, Dustin Davis, Karissa Napoli, Weston Dill, and Josephine Chia.
