It is important for an abundant life not to stray from the truth handed down through the Word; that’s the advice given in II Peter 2:1-3. Pastor Darrell Wenzek’s sermon at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2 is entitled “Beware of False Teachers.”

A Communion service is also scheduled for Sunday, as well as a baptismal service at Lakeside Bible Camp at 1 p.m. Share a potluck dinner following the baptismal service. At 9 a.m., there is an adult Bible study in the book of James, led by Stan Walker.

South Whidbey Community Church meets at the Deer Lagoon Grange Hall, 5142 Bayview Road, while its property is under development. Visitors are welcome. For more information, call 221-1220.
