A man in a rowboat got blown a bit off course in Holmes Harbor on Monday. As winds picked up, the man was seen waving his arms, apparently signaling for help to people in the area. Emergency aid was called out, but responders from South Whidbey Fire/EMS and Whidbey General EMS were not needed as the man was eventually towed to a private dock on the west side of the harbor.

Editor, I met Betty Bond at a School District community forum a couple of years ago when Dr. Jo Moccia began her tenure as our district superintendent. I was immediately impressed with her intelligence, knowledge of quality instructional practices, vast experience with the educational system, high expectations for student growth, dedication to her new community, and ability to articulate her ideas in a professional manner.
