The annual Oyster Run motorcycle rally will be Sunday, Sept. 26 in Anacortes.

Each year, thousands of motorcyclists take the Island County route to and from the event, crowding ferries and setting some island nerves on edge with the noise of their engines.

Officials from Washington State Ferries said this week the rally will mean loading delays for ferry travelers through the weekend. Motorcycles will be loaded first-come, first-served along with other vehicles from Mukilteo to Clinton.

From Clinton, motorcycles should stage in the local traffic lane and will be loaded as space is available.

Two lanes of motorcycles will receive preferential loading at the beginning of each run, ferries officials said.
