A tree fell across power lines, disrupting service briefly to two or three houses in the Glendale area shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday, Paul Busch, assistant chief of Island County Fire District 3, said Monday.

He said a section of Jewett Road was closed to traffic for about an hour while Puget Sound Energy crews attended to the fallen lines.

Moderate wind gusts were noted across the South End on Sunday, and other fallen branches also were detected, but no further damage was reported, officials said.

PSE spokeswoman Meghan Fitzpatrick said Monday that no other power outages were reported during the weekend on Whidbey.
