The South Whidbey Record has started a new blog focusing on Langley that's been prompted, in part, by the ongoing community discussion of the controversies at city hall.

Called "Langley Inside and Out," the Record blog will feature news and views from the Village by the Sea, and will give Record readers a central place to chime in about all things Langley.

Langley Inside and Out will also repost items that first appear on the new Web site created by Langley City Councilman Robert Gilman.

Last week, Gilman launched langleyelecteds.org, a new Web site that he billed as an "electronic newsletter" that will share the viewpoints of Langley council members and the mayor.

Langleyelected.org features blogs by each council member and the mayor, but readers cannot post comments on the topics presented by city officials.

Readers going to "Langley Inside and Out," however, will be able to directly comment on the viewpoints and issues raised on the Langley council's new Web site.

Langley Inside and Out will also include links to the latest news articles about Langley, as well as offer a look at stories in progress that will appear in the pages of the newspaper.
