Port of South Whidbey to remove floats this week

The floats at the Bush Point boat ramp and Possession Beach Park will be removed later this week, said Ed Field, port manager for the Port of South Whidbey.

The Bush Point floats will be removed on the morning of Friday, Oct. 8, and the floats at Possession Beach will be taken out the morning of Saturday, Oct. 9.

Field said that for safety reasons, the ramps at each facility will be closed during the removal operations.

The floats are taken out each year before bad winter weather arrives, and the floats will be inspected and maintained during the winter before relaunching in April.
