County commission to hold Freeland hearing

The Island County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on proposed updates to the Freeland Subarea Plan later this month in Freeland.

The plan, which will guide development in the Freeland area, includes changes that cover transportation, land use, housing, capital facilities, utilities, parks and economic development.

The meeting is at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14 in the gym at Trinity Lutheran Church. County planners will open the meeting with a presentation before public comments.
