Island County Fire District 3 to talk about budget
January 11, 2011 · 3:37 PM
A $2.6 million budget for 2011 will be considered at this week’s meeting of Island County Fire District 3 commissioners.
The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Freeland Fire Station, 5535 Cameron Road.
The proposed budget is down from 2010’s $2.9 million, and reflects a new search and rescue boat the district hopes to acquire, if federal funding is granted.
Commissioners also will discuss a new comprehensive citizen survey the district plans to conduct among residents.
They also will elect officers for the coming year, and will confirm six new volunteer recruits. The new members are Lynda Ross, Melissa Kinderspike, Lisa Dilwicius, Matthew Brencick, Tuesday “Cari” Boda and Kelly Wrightson.
