The investigation continues into what caused the death of a 29-year-old Clinton man whose body was found in the Maxwelton Valley during the weekend.

The man’s body was discovered in a driveway off Maxwelton Road south of Highway 525 by a resident of the area about 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, Island County Sheriff’s Det. Ed Wallace said Tuesday.

The man was identified by the Island County Coronor’s Office as Brandon Korpe, Wallace said.

He said the cause of death won’t be determined until toxicology and autopsy reports are completed.

“There was no sign of trauma, and we don’t suspect foul play,” Wallace said. “At this point, we’re still investigating.”

He said Korpe was fully clothed and wearing jeans, a sweatshirt and shoes, but no coat.
