The South Whidbey School Board has approved the purchase of a new bus to add to the district’s fleet.

The board approved the purchase of an International Corporation 78-passenger school bus from Harlow’s Bus Sales. The vehicle will cost $91,789 and will be paid for with revenue from the district’s transportation vehicle fund.

The school district has 24 buses in its fleet; seven small and 17 large, according to Dan Poolman, the business and operations director for the school district.
