A 73-year-old Freeland woman was injured Tuesday morning when her vehicle went off the road and struck a tree, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers said Barbara E. Pomeroy was eastbound on Bush Point Road near Highway 525 in a 1998 Jeep Cherokee shortly after 9 a.m. when the vehicle struck the right-hand guardrail, then swerved across the road and hit the tree.

Pomeroy was taken to Whidbey General Hospital with undisclosed injuries, according to the State Patrol.
