Orca pods have been seen again off South Whidbey, according to South Enders who have posted sightings on Facebook.

Tom Trimbath said a pod of orcas were heading up the west side of Scatchet Head, between the shipping lanes and the Scatchet Head buoy, at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23.

“I noticed a big splash from my house, about two miles away, then saw at most four fins at a time moving quickly north,” Trimbath noted.

The pod was heading toward Maxwelton.

On Monday, Feb. 21, Julie Charette Nunn reported a pod of three orcas swimming north from the Clinton-Mukilteo ferry in Saratoga Passage.
