Gun expert is guest speaker at Republican women's meeting

“Guns and Freedom” will be the topic of guest speaker Michael McInerney at the next South Whidbey Republican Women’s meeting.

The group will meet on Tuesday, March 15 at the Useless Bay Golf& Country Club.

McInerney, who retired from the South Whidbey School District after a teaching career of more than 30 years, is a lifetime NRA member and a range master at the Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun Club. Presently, he is owner of Backdoor Sports, and he offers personal one-on-one service concerning choosing, shooting and maintaining sporting and defensive guns. During his presentation, McInerney will share the history of firearms, and will have guns on display.

The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a menu of fish and chips for $16. The meeting is open to the public. To RSVP for lunch, call 341-2355 or 579-3614 by March 10.
