UPDATE | Police searching for suspect in Clinton bank robbery

Police are currently searching for a suspect in a bank robbery in Clinton that happened this afternoon.

The robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon at roughly 1:30 p.m. at the Whidbey Island Bank branch in Clinton.

According to 911 dispatchers, a bank employee said the robber entered the bank on Highway 525 and demanded money. He claimed to have a gun, but no weapon was seen.

The suspect was described as a young white man, wearing a black wool jacket with a hood, dark blue jeans and blue-mirrored sunglasses. He escaped with a green plastic grocery bag with an undisclosed amount of money.
