Islands Red Cross to cut office hours
March 23, 2011 · 12:17 PM
The Islands Red Cross will be reducing its hours of office operations starting April 1, Red Cross officials have announced.
Officials said they were having trouble keeping the Oak Harbor and Anacortes offices open on the current schedule, while still fulfilling the organization’s obligations in the community. The office will now be open through the use of volunteers. The new hours of operation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Officials said chapter staff will continue to work during the closed hours and Red Cross volunteers stand ready whenever needed to respond to local disasters.
