Concert to benefit earthquake relief

Island volunteers will hold a benefit auction and concert for relief organizations working to help the victims of the earthquake in northern Japan.

On Saturday, April 16 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Whidbey Island in Freeland, a silent auction will begin at 4:30 p.m. followed by a sushi buffet from 5 to 7 p.m., a live auction at 6 p.m. and a concert at 7:30 p.m.

Performers include Karl Olsen, Nancy Nolan, Kat Fritz, Kimmer Morris, Linda Good, Shion, the Sound Singers and Japanese musicians.

Admission for the event is $10, and $20 for the buffet; half price for those age 10 or younger. A full house is expected, so reservations are recommended by calling 341-1817.
