Ferry fares rise on Sunday

Peak season fares for ferry travelers will begin Sunday, May 1, according to Washington State Ferries.

The increase in fares includes an additional 25 percent surcharge applied to full fare vehicle/driver tickets (35 percent on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes). The peak season surcharge does not affect passenger fares or frequent user multi-ride fares.

Sailing from Clinton, the round-trip fare for a driver and vehicle (under 20 feet) is $18.

Sailing from Coupeville (Keystone), the round-trip fare for a driver and vehicle (under 20 feet) is $23.40.

The peak season ends on Sept. 30.

Detailed fare information is available at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/fares.

Ferry officials also noted there will be no peak season surcharge for passengers on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes, and also, day-of-the-week pricing in the San Juans has been discontinued.
