South Whidbey Republican Women will show the documentary “Perfect Valor” on Thursday, May 12,  at the Little Brown Church community center on Maxwelton Road.

The sponsors of movie night said the film focuses on Operation Phantom Fury, the fight for control of Fallujah, where American troops battled through enemy insurgents to seize control of the most dangerous city in the world. “Perfect Valor” is the story of that campaign, seen through the eyes of the men and women who were there.

The film paints a vivid picture of urban warfare using high-definition footage that looks at the experiences of American troops fighting in Iraq. Narrated by Fred Thompson, “Perfect Valor” weaves individual stories of courage, struggle and triumph into the broad fabric of the war.

The public is invited to attend this viewing, and organizers note that the movie may not be screened again locally for some time. Doors open at 6:30, and the movie starts at 7 p.m. Coffee, tea and snacks will be served.

Reservations are requested to czarina@whidbey.com, or call 341-2355 for additional information.
