School officials will host a farewell reception for outgoing Superintendent Fred McCarthy before the start of the school board meeting this week.

The school board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 22 in the board’s meeting room on the primary school campus.

McCarthy is retiring and his last day with the South Whidbey School District is June 30. His replacement, Josephine “Jo” Moccia, is expected to have transition meetings with McCarthy during the last week of June.
