A portion of Glendale Road will be closed during daylight hours for more than a month as work continues on the Glendale Creek restoration project, Island County officials announced Thursday.

Glendale Road, from Humphrey Road to approximately a half-mile northeast of Humphrey Road, will be shut down from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, starting Tuesday, Aug. 9.

The same section of road will be a reduced to one-lane traffic on Fridays through Sundays.

The road is expected to reopen by Sept. 16.

Island County Public Works said local and emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times during the work on the creek project.
