Primary Election vote is certified by Island County

It's official: Jim Sundberg will try to repeat his winning primary performance for Langley City Council Position 3 in a race against Robin Adams, and Thomas Gill will face Bruce Allen for Position 4 on the council, in November's General Election.

Island County election workers released the final vote tally Wednesday, and the four Langley candidates will advance to the November election as the top-two winners in this year's primary.

The results of the Aug. 16 Primary Election were certified as official on Wednesday.

An additional 28 ballots were counted Aug. 31, bringing the grand total of ballots cast in the primary to 8,776.

No additional ballots were counted from Langley's two precincts.

Overall voter turnout in Island County was pegged at 40.5 percent.
