Changes made for voters’ forum in Langley
October 24, 2011 · 8:02 AM
Organizers of the voters’ forum tonight in Langley have announced a few changes in the lineup for the meeting.
Dennis Gregoire, who is running unopposed for a seat on the board for the Port of South Whidbey, will speak at the forum.
Other speakers include Langley council candidates R. Bruce Allen, Thomas Gill, Jim Sundberg and Hal Seligson, and Larry Kwarsick, a candidate for Langley mayor.
Robin Adams, a candidate for the council, will be unable to attend due to a previous commitment in Toronto, Canada. Adams will be at the 2011 Mining Business Risks Summit, and is chairman of one of the panels.
Kathleen Waters, one of the organizers of the forum, said a statement from Adams will be read during the meeting.
Though candidates for the parks district were invited, neither chose to participate.
The forum is planned for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at Fellowship Hall at the Langley United Methodist Church. Candidates will give a short summary of their views, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Chris Skinner, an attorney from Oak Harbor who helped guide the forum for Proposition 1 during the primary, will serve as moderator.
