Roughly 8 percent of ballots for the General Election have been returned to Island County elections workers.

The county elections office said 4,045 ballots have arrived in Coupeville, including those in Monday’s mail.

Ballots started landing in island mailboxes last week.

The county sent out 47,813 ballots for the Nov. 8 election, said Deputy Auditor Michele Reagan.
