Washington State Patrol authorities have released the identity of the man suspected of making a bomb threat to the M/V Cathlamet yesterday morning.

Michael W. Harsh, a 33-year-old from the Langley area and Everett, was booked into Snohomish County Jail yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 9 a.m. Thursday, a man on the Cathlamet left a backpack on the car deck of the 144-car ferry after it left Clinton. Passengers overheard him making statements that left them fearful there was a bomb in the backpack.

Trooper Keith Leary said the suspect was questioned by the Washington State Patrol at its Everett office in Silver Lake.

Harsh is being held on $25,000 bail.
