Larsen campaign reports $147K in new donations

Congressman Rick Larsen raised more than $147,000 for his re-election campaign during the fourth quarter of 2011.

Larsen, D-Everett, is running for a seventh term in Washington state’s 2nd Congressional District.

The Citizens to Elect Rick Larsen campaign reported raising $147,206 from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31. The campaign also reported $733,787 cash on hand in its most recent report to the Federal Election Commission.

Larsen said his campaign is taking nothing for granted, and his campaign began ringing doorbells in Lynnwood this past weekend.

Lynnwood is one of the communities added to the new 2nd Congressional District, and campaign workers knocked on 156 doors in the south Snohomish County city. Larsen hit the doorbell at 62 homes himself.

“There is no time to waste," Larsen said. “My campaign is starting early. I will work hard to earn the support of those I have represented for the past 11 years as well as the new voters in south Snohomish County.”
