Gordy Edberg has joined Whidbey Island Arts Council (WIAC) board of directors. Edberg takes responsibility as Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee.

Edberg and his wife Sharon have been island residents for more than seven years.

Eberg is a retired architect and a full time artist focused on landscape painting both en plein air and at a studio near Langley.

He served for six years on the Goosefoot Community Fund Board, as a member of Langley Artists Connect and the Whidbey Island Woodworkers Guild.

Edberg serves as an artist-in-residence at the South Whidbey School District under the auspices of the Whidbey Island Arts Council’s Arts in Education program. As an artist-in-residence, he teaches drawing and painting at the elementary grade level.

He is looking forward to using his many years of experience as an artist and community volunteer to promote and support the arts council’s mission and goals.
