Fire levy hearing set
May 22, 2012 · Updated 1:21 PM
South Whidbey Fire/EMS will have a public hearing on the proposed levy increase at Bayview Hall.
Commissioners from the fire protection district will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24 to discuss the proposed 15 cent increase. Fire Chief Rusty Palmer recommended seeking the increase to help cover the district’s operations costs.
The bump would push the levy to 76 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value, meaning a $200,000 property would pay $152 annually. Bayview Hall is located at 5642 Bayview Road.
