All signs point to “Go!” for a shared parking lot agreement.

For the second time, the Langley City Council has approved its portion of a three-way agreement to use the Langley Middle School’s parking lot to supplement marina parking.

The Port of South Whidbey owns the marina and is working together with the city on an expansion project. Anticipating the need for more parking, a memorandum of understanding was drafted that would make the middle school’s former bus barn parking lot available.

The council approved the agreement in April but came back Monday after its recent review by the school district. Langley Mayor Larry Kwarsick said the changes were not substantive, but did warrant new action by the council.

The agreement was once again unanimously approved.
