Smith kicks off campaign

District 10 state Rep. Norma Smith, R-Clinton, will kick off her reelection campaign next week with a party on Central Whidbey.

Smith has held the seat since 2007 when she was appointed to replace Chris Strow. Her sole challenger this year is Langley Democrat Aaron Simpson, a barista and music composer.

The position carries a two-year term and has an annual salary of $42,106.

The kickoff party begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, and will be held at Greenbank Farm. Anyone wishing to attend must RSVP by Tuesday as food will be served.

To do so, call 341-5171 or email office@votenormasmith.com.
