COUPEVILLE - James Huden's defense will begin today in Island Superior Court.

Huden is accused of murdering Russel Douglas in Dec. 2003 along with Peggy Sue Thomas, who will be tried separately. Matt Montoya, Huden's attorney, has scheduled two witnesses to testify in the defense of Huden: expert witness Dr. Jon Nordby and a former friend, Ron Young.

Closing arguments may begin this afternoon, however, time was scheduled Friday morning for closing, as the prosecution has an opportunity for a rebuttal Thursday once the defense rests.
