Shoreline workshops set by Island County Planning Commission

The Island County Planning Commission is scheduling a series of workshops to discuss an update of the Shoreline Master Program.

Three meetings take place in August throughout Island County. The meetings are scheduled:

• 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug., 14, Commissioners’ Hearing Room, 1 NE Sixth St., Coupeville.

• 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, Trinity Lutheran Church Gym, 18341 Highway 525, Freeland.

• 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, Camano Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island.

The workshops are scheduled to include a discussion of the update of the Shoreline Master Program, which is needed to comply with the Shoreline Management Act and current shoreline management guidelines, according to information provided by Island County.
