Board to review club, senior rights
September 21, 2012 · Updated 3:57 PM
A pair of presentations will open the South Whidbey School Board’s business meeting Wednesday, Sept. 26.
As part of the agreement for seniors to leave campus for lunch, Associated Student Body President Kyle Simchuk will pitch the proposal to the school board. Also, Tom French will present on the Community Advisory Committee Against Drugs/Alcohol.
There will be a public comment period after the presentations and before any action is taken by the board.
The board members will consider approving the formation of a new club at South Whidbey High School, the Green Team. As an environmentally-conscious group, the Green Team’s purpose and goals are to encourage green living and the recycling program at the school.
District Superintendent Jo Moccia, in her second year with South Whidbey, will give an update on her goals and evaluation, as well as an action plan and her work plans.
The board meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be in the board meeting room at South Whidbey Primary Campus, located at 5476 S. Maxwelton Road.
