South Whidbey kids can stay busy this winter, even if the weather bids them to stay indoors.

The South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District has a few opportunities for youngsters to run around. A youth dodgeball league, which costs $40, lasts from Nov. 14 to Dec. 19. Kids in fourth and fifth grade play from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays in the Langley Middle School gyms. Students from sixth to eighth grade play from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., also Wednesday nights at LMS.

There will also be a kids’ tennis team for students from first to fourth grade. The instructional group will meet from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from Dec. 3 to Feb. 25 at the South Whidbey Primary Campus gym. The tennis clinic costs $65.

For free fitness, take to the track. South Whidbey High School’s track lights will be on from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday from Nov. 15 to Feb. 14.
