South Whidbey Elementary School PTA function raises money, short of expectations

October 19, 2012 · Updated 5:54 PM

The South Whidbey Elementary School’s jogathon brought in about half of the school PTA’s projected budget.

The South Whidbey Elementary Parent Teacher Association (SWEPTA) raised about $4,000. Its goal was to raise twice that at $8,000. The PTA group has stated that its ability to pay for field trips, the annual science day, family nights and an art docent are, “crippled.”

Any ideas for fundraising are appreciated by the SWEPTA, and may be sent to krismrice@hotmail.com.

The group also coordinates volunteers with the school. Those who would like to know where and how to help should contact Ann Johnson by email at amj.2718@gmail.com or call 360-420-0215.

The SWEPTA keeps regular updates on its Facebook page.
