Marine resources positions open

As many as five seats on the Island County Marine Resources Committee will be open for new appointment or re-appointment effective Dec. 31. The Board of County Commissioners invites applicants from Whidbey and Camano islands to express interest and request appointment.

Five committee members will complete their terms of service Jan. 31, and may be re-appointed or replaced at the pleasure of the Board of Commissioners. Two positions are vacant. Members whose terms are expiring represent the ports, marine science, commercial and environmental interests and the tribes.

Applicants should provide a letter of interest and statement of qualifications by mail, email or fax to: Tim Lawrence, MRC County Lead and Director of Washington State University Extension: Re: Marine Resources Committee Vacancies, P.O. Box 5000, Coupeville, WA 98239. The fax number is 360-240-5503 and email applications should be sent to timothy.lawrence@wsu.edu.

Members of this voluntary, advisory committee serve a three-year term. The 16-member committee meets on the first and third Tuesday afternoons of each month in the Board of County Commissioners Hearing Room (Room 102B Basement), Island County Annex., 1 N.E. 6th St. in Coupeville.
